Stevenson is the author of “Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption”, a New York Times bestseller profiling the inequalities of the criminal justice system by highlighting Stevenson’s work on behalf of Walter McMillian, a young man sentenced to die for a murder he insisted he did not commit.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was named as the second female Justice of the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton in 1993. In addition to being a legal champion for women’s rights, both before and after her appointment, Ginsburg has gained a cult following, including being the subject of the blog the Notorious R.B.G. She is considered to be an all around badass for continuing to serve even after having some health issues.

His first book was a memoir called, “The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood”, but it’s his second book that has gained him the most attention. “Between the World and Me” is a compelling story told in the form of a letter written to the author’s teenaged son about the feelings and realities of being black in the United States. It was awarded the National Book Award for nonfiction in 2015.
