Tired of wearing the same black skirt and white shirt combo to work? Introduce animal prints into your weekly fashion mix. And save your breath before you scoff with disapproval. These animal prints aren’t the gaudy ’90s patterns that plagued your teen wardrobe. (No head-to-toe small leopard print here.)

1. Small patterns on a dress

I saw this cute animal-print clothing tutorial over at ModCloth and kind of fell in love with the idea of dresses printed with elegant, little creatures. One example is the item pictured above. The mid-length dress features 3/4-length sleeves and a warm, fall color pattern — perfect for October. The dress’ animal pattern isn’t subtle, but each color and shape is elegantly layered.

2. Have wild accessories

If you don’t feel comfortable wearing a “full on” print, you can wear a small, leopard-print belt, or a hat. While the belt will stay with you all day, you can remove the hat when you get to the office, but still wow your office mates when you’re arriving, leaving and going to lunch.

3. Grab a cover up

No office is warm. All are cold. Remedy your chill by investing in an animal-print cardigan. This particular sweater would look quite classy over a black, long sleeve shirt, and over a grey, pencil skirt.

4. Let your feet do the talking

A little flare on a flat can keep your feet fashionable and comfortable. Animal-print flats can be paired with a sold color dress.

If you’re feeling a little more dangerous, you can pair a cute pair of socks featuring your favorite creature with a pair of oxfords. Pair with a wool skirt, and a simple, white, button-down dress shirt.
