Parmesan crisps are the new chips to your healthy dips.

After I conquer a healthy dip recipe, I’m often left with not-so-lust-worthy options for dipping. Vegetable crudités are colorful and all, but they don’t quite mimic the gloriousness of salty and crispy chips. Meanwhile, store-bought chips are often deep-fried, packed with artificial ingredients and flavors, and essentially lead to a carb overload (because who ever stops at just a few chips?) Enter: parmesan crisps. These cheese chips will revolutionize your dipping game. They’re a one-ingredient, fuss-free, low-carb wonder!

With parmesan chips, you don’t get that feeling of needing dozens of empty-calorie, low-quality-carb chips to fill you up. Instead, you’re satisfied after a handful. But even then, you don’t feel weight down. These crisps are amazing as a one-ingredient phenomenon, but consider adding in spices that balance the dip in question. In the following recipe, I’ve added optional add-ins for crisps that are reminiscent of pizza and that you could pair with a delicious homemade marinara sauce.

    });

Often, I make these parmesan crisps without having a dip in mind and just eat them plain. Or, I’ll add them atop a hot soup or nosh on them aside a lush salad. However you get down with these crisps, they’re worth it.

Parmesan Crisps Recipe

Makes 20-25 crisps

Ingredients

4 ounces freshly-grated Parmesan cheese

Optional: ½ teaspoon black pepper

Optional: ¼ teaspoon dried oregano

Optional: ¼ teaspoon dried thyme

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Do not use anything but parchment paper for baking. This is an important step – a baking sheet alone or aluminum foil will not work.

If you are adding spices, transfer the grated parmesan to a bowl and toss with desired spices.

Spoon the parmesan by the tablespoon onto the parchment paper, each mound about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until crispy and golden. Let cool completely on the baking sheet before removing with a thin spatula.
