<p><a href="http://ecosalon.com/wp-content/uploads/z.gif"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-125127" src="http://ecosalon.com/wp-content/uploads/z.gif" alt="" width="400" height="400" srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/wpesc/1/z.gif 400w, https://storage.googleapis.com/wpesc/1/z-150x150.gif 150w, https://storage.googleapis.com/wpesc/1/z-300x300.gif 300w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></a></p>
<p>The most familiar example of light dispersion is probably a rainbow, which causes white light to cast the full spectrum of colors.  Khasanov casts a unique interpretation upon the notion of using light as type. This unexpected medium surprises us as we imagine how he achieves such an elusive radiance.</p>
<p><a href="http://ecosalon.com/wp-content/uploads/Sunbeam-Type.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-124916 alignnone" src="http://ecosalon.com/wp-content/uploads/Sunbeam-Type.jpg" alt="" width="455" height="732" srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/wpesc/1/Sunbeam-Type.jpg 455w, https://storage.googleapis.com/wpesc/1/Sunbeam-Type-186x300.jpg 186w" sizes="(max-width: 455px) 100vw, 455px" /></a></p>
<p>Khasanov explains his process:</p>
<p><em>All I needed was to deflect the light by transparent refracting mediums. I&#8217;ve used gel by dabbing on a glass and then I draw the letters on with a clean brush. All I had to do was to bring that glass to the sunbeam and to reflect letters by a lens on the background.</em></p>
<p><a href="http://ecosalon.com/wp-content/uploads/Ruslan-Khasanov.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-124919" src="http://ecosalon.com/wp-content/uploads/Ruslan-Khasanov.jpg" alt="" width="402" height="653" srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/wpesc/1/Ruslan-Khasanov.jpg 402w, https://storage.googleapis.com/wpesc/1/Ruslan-Khasanov-184x300.jpg 184w, https://storage.googleapis.com/wpesc/1/Ruslan-Khasanov-255x415.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px" /></a></p>
<p>From <a href="http://maricormaricar.com/" target="_blank">embroidery</a> to biscuits, we are living in a time when designers continue to push the boundaries of art with type. Khasanov&#8217;s exceptional results are stunning and, though temporal, their hypnotic quality begs the question: What will he think of next?</p>
<p>Inspired by a post on DesignBoom.</p>

Eco, trends, art, creativity and how they tumble through social media to shape culture fascinate EcoSalon columnist <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mixing-Reality/127111824023677" target="_blank">Dominique Pacheco</a><a href="/wp-content/uploads/dom25.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-102264];player=img;">.</a> Her trends blog, <a href="http://mixingreality.com/" target="_blank">mixingreality</a><a href="/wp-content/uploads/dom25.jpg" rel="shadowbox[sbpost-102264];player=img;">,</a> speaks to these topics daily, and here at EcoSalon, she takes a weekly look at the intersection of eco and art. We call it <a href="/tag/heartbeat/" target="_blank">heARTbeat</a>.</p>
