Ever thought of yourself in a jumpsuit?

Probably one of the most versatile pieces you could ever have in your wardrobe, the jumpsuit has been worn by aviators, Nascar drivers and almost as many edgy fashionistas as toned Olympic swimmers. However, the trick with wearing it is to make it look current (and hopefully not Nascar).

For this week’s Stylish Steal I found this one at Beklina that is perfect in all its silken glory. The Raasta Palua silk Jumpsuit is fully lined, has side pockets, a wide and comfortable elastic band along the top neckline and my favorite, a silk patched removable and fully adjustable neon pink, lime and navy tie belt. On sale at Beklina for $90.

You could wear lots of different shoes with your Raasta Palua jumpsuit including strappy, metallic heels, but these chunky heels from Olsen Haus are great too, and give you a little lift to lengthen the look. On sale at Endless for $110.52.

To make the look a little sweeter, try these Olsen Haus metallic flats on for size. On sale at Endless for $77.52.

Though not on sale, I love these Sun Earrings from Mociun to wear with this outfit (try hard to disregard the berry stained fingers holding them). Priced at $260.

Depending on where you live, you might be needing something to wear over your shoulders. I suggest grabbing your favorite cropped, maybe sheer, navy cardigan or blazer. Not to stay so matchy matchy would be to play with the brown in the heels, or the pink or green in the belt.

Effortlessly sexy? A thrown together look that can go from day to night?

Tobi’s online eco-boutique has an “Eco-Tobi” which offers lots of looks to choose from, with a healthy amount of sizes left. I love this Alternative Apparel silk and modal cardigan for its sheerness and earthly hue. The only thing I would suggest is to leave the last couple buttons open on the bottom of the cardigan, so you don’t have pulling like in this photo. On sale for $37.

Hard to pull off sheer without something of similar weight underneath. This tissue weight Alternative Apparel racerback tank is perfect and equally slouchy as the cardigan. Not on sale but only $25.

There is a point with slouchiness where you need structure. Though you may not be a fan of skinny jeans or leggings, a pair of these 7 For All Mankind jeans is a nice combo of the two into a jegging of the sort. The length of the cardigan hides your behind if you’re worried about tight jeans (in the wrong places). On sale for $84.

These Melissa wedges lengthen your legs in those skinny jeans and add a lustre with their recycled plastic and woven toe area, bringing your downtown vibe just a little more street cred.

We’ve been going pretty safe up until now, and safe can mean boring if you’re not careful. This is fine if you’re out in the mountains picking apples (wearing worn in flats with this outfit mind you) but let’s make pretend you’re not. This Matt and Nat Studded Envelope Bag is your secret spice. Wear it with or without the chain strap. On sale for $102.

Maybe we should have started with these earrings from DLC Brooklyn. From these simple gold chains drips slouch sexiness from the start, passing into sheer, then structured, studded and shiny. You have lengthened yourself and I bet, are still really comfortable.

I’m imagining you with a windswept up-do like you just got out of bed, soft pink lips and rosy cheeks. I can’t stop looking at you and neither will the handsome men who pass.

Classic essentials you ask? What do they consist of?

To name a few, a dark pair of denim, a few silky t-shirts, a well-cut blazer, editor pants, a go-to pair of office to party heels and of course a little black dress.

This week’s Stylish Steal tries to pull a few of those pieces in and honoring the fact that this is a “steal,” most of these are on sale. This time around we pulled (mostly) from Pittsburgh based Equita which is chock full of pretty things.

I love this organic cotton, ruffled blouse from Oslo based Fin. The site says it’s inspired by Amelia Earhart which is as classic as it gets. On sale for $88.

Want to make even the most classic outfit a little fun? Add a chunky cocktail ring like this owl ring from Alkemie to your outfit. For sale at Juno & Jove for $130

A good pair of jeans is hard to find (Flannery O’Connor would’ve written a book about that had she made it to 2010). These Laurel jeans from Del Forte might just be that pair for you. The relaxed leg jean sits just below your natural waist and is made from light weight 100% organic cotton. On sale for $115.

This Chevron v-neck sweater from Stewart + Brown is another classic piece and would look great on top of the Fin blouse above. Imagine the ruffles oozing out from the V…

And oftentimes what pulls an entire outfit together are the shoes and these on trend kickers from Coclico are what makes the whole outfit ooze classic and cool (maybe that owl ring too). At $320 these  shoes will wax classic forever which might be easier to digest with such a large price tag.

Trying on a new trend like the ethnic/tribal vibe can be a big step out of one’s comfort zone, but with baby steps you can capture the vibe and what? Do it on sale?!

Yes ma’am. This dress and the shoes below are both very reasonably priced and just put on sale.

When perusing Nimli’s site, I was actually astounded to see all of their sale items, and came up with this little outfit for you ladies that don’t want tattered and beaded bib necklaces, wild prints, harem pants and a host of mixed textiles that could confuse any tribesman if they met you in the jungle.

So today we’ll go subtle and maybe inspire you to walk a little further out some other time.

The dress above by Doie is made of organic cotton and is great now (and later with tights and boots) as a perfect summer dress. I love the gathered ruching in the front as a point of interest. On sale for $96.

These vegan heels by Cri de Coeur are a nice alternative to just pairing a black dress with black shoes. The brown pulls in the rest of the accessories too. On sale for $132.

Here’s where your hint of ethnic starts creeping in. This necklace by Nashelle is made from tiger wood pieces, and two hand cut gold leaf shapes and is just enough to let people know you’re trendy sure but also just stylish. I love the feminine gold circles with the weight of the wood. Priced at $129.

Finally, a handwoven ombre raffia and seagrass clutch from Mad Imports. $94.

You’re nearing mid-August and feel in limbo with seasons, sales are picking up everywhere and you ask yourself, “Self – do I get a few cute pieces for next summer or look forward to fall?”

The answer to this is to find a few pieces that can work for you now and into the fall.

I found this entire outfit online at Verdessence (minus the shoes) and on sale (minus the earrings but they’re a very reasonable at $18). I love this Edun top and can imagine it with a skinny belt (blue to match the shoes and perhaps gold to pull the earrings in?) to cinch it in adding an hourglass shape when paired with this slim skirt.

It’s always good to throw some color into an outfit and these Cri de Coeur heels are the perfect solution to what might be an otherwise plain outfit.

The earrings add a little more depth to the outfit with all metal colors represented, so if you wanted to slip on a simple ring with this too, it won’t matter if it’s gold or silver. Just don’t over-do the jewelry!

Want to bring this outfit into the fall? Throw on a pair of black or grey tights, a long black or grey cardigan and pair of three-quarter lengthed boots like these vegetable dyed Osage Boots from Coclico, on sale for $207, and you’re falling into fall and away from summer.

And for the record, my favorite leggings hands down are by Nixxi. And guess what? Verdessence just so happens to have them on sale for $39. Please take my word for it and grab a pair, lightweight and silky, they are the best leggings year-round.

Talk about a complete outfit you should grab because it not only works now, but it can be paired with these pointelle leggings, a fitted long sleeve t-shirt and your favorite boots or flats to make it a fall or spring outfit as well.

The romper is made from a heavier weight organic cotton, but it’s comfy and with these (used but in great condition) Olsen Haus Destiny Flats from Amazon for $61.99. Now you’re good to go romp around the town.
