<p><a href="http://www.climatecounts.org/" target="_blank">Climate Counts</a>, an website that evaluate companies and gives them scores based on their impact (or non-impact) on global warming has found that toy companies have a long way to go towards green credibility.</p>
<p>In a <a href="http://blog.climatecounts.org/2009/04/protecting-your-kids-from-climate-change/" target="_blank">new report</a> released this month, <strong>Climate Counts</strong> found that companies within the toy and child equipment industry were lacking in their commitment to being environmental friendly.</p>
<p><strong>Climate Counts</strong> used their <a href="http://www.climatecounts.org/pdf/Climate_Counts_Scorecard.pdf" target="_blank">standard scorecard</a> based on 22 criteria to measure each company&#8217;s action in addressing environmental issues. And on a scale of 1 to 100, with 100 being greenest of the green, most of the toy and child equipment companies evaluated received a big fat zero.</p><div id="inContentContiner"><!-- /4450967/ES-In-Content -->
    <div id="div-gpt-ad-1430927735854-0">
    <script type="text/javascript">

      googletag.display("div-gpt-ad-1430927735854-0");
      googletag.pubads().refresh([adslot4]);
    });
    </script>
    </div>

<p>Top performer was <a href="http://climatecounts.org/scorecard_score.php?co=110" target="_blank">Hasbro</a> with a score of 40, trailed by <a href="http://climatecounts.org/scorecard_score.php?co=109" target="_blank">Mattel</a> with a score of 18. <a href="http://climatecounts.org/scorecard_score.php?co=111" target="_blank">Lego</a> came in third with 13, then there was <a href="http://climatecounts.org/scorecard_score.php?co=112" target="_blank">Newell Rubbermaid</a> with 4, and <a href="http://climatecounts.org/scorecard_score.php?co=113" target="_blank">Dorel Industries</a> with 2. The remaining eight companies scored 0.</p>
<p>Find out <a href="http://climatecounts.org/scorecard_sectors.php?id=28" target="_blank">why each company scored as they did</a> and then raise your voice and let them know that it&#8217;s not good enough by sending the pre-written email addressed to each of the evaluated companies.</p>
