So, when people think of the world as “ugly” “bad” or “evil”, they are part of the ugliness that they dislike or despise. Hard reality, but that’s the breaks.

I think we’re one of the ugliest animals that is threatened by the oil spill.

They may not be as svelte as some (why do we want animals to be along specific lines to be considered pretty, anyway?). Some of these are actually quite sweet and cute, though they don’t necessarily fit the human view of “beautiful”. But you forgot another creature that is endangered – one which may be beautiful, ugly, or anything in between – that is generally not listed. Human beings!

May the lesson of this spill AWAKEN millions more to find alternative modes of transportation, energy, and livelihood. We ALL have work to do on this one.
