That was funny, but think again about the air popper. MW popcorn is expensive and tastes sucky, and you have to stand there and watch it. If someone burns it, the stench lingers for days and days. Making it on top of the stove is OK, but again, there's the risk of burning and you have to use oil. Air popping means you don't have to feel guilty about the butter you put on it and you can flavor it as you like. It might be a single-use item, but we use it several times a week at home, and as a teacher, I have one in my classroom--my students get a popcorn treat as a reward and it stores in a file cabinet.
An item isn't necessarily bad just because it has a single use. It's what it's used for and how often (or infrequently, rather) that makes it so.

Totally agree. A special bowl? Really? Seriously, all we need are a few mixing bowls, a few good knives, a few good pans and a large pot.

Besides the fact that I have some deep seeded issues with Rachel Ray I particularly have a disdain for unnecessary kitchen items. There is no need to purchase a garbage bowl when everyone has a bowl in their kitchen. At the very least, Ms. Ray could have sold a garbage bowl that biodegrades from avocado skins or the husk of corn. That's what my Abuelita did and for the record she was the original inventor of the "garbage bowl."
