Thanks, Caitlin! Actually Oakland and Berkeley are pretty foggy too, but you would never know it these past couple of days. Seems the SF bay is weathering a (late) heat wave of its own.

Ah, heat waves…I kind of miss them this summer.

I used to live in southern Canada, where hot, muggy weather was par for the course. But last year I moved to Glasgow, and the hottest it got was mid-20s (centigrade). Definately not a summer I’m accustomed to. And while opressive humidity and skin-blistering heat were things I found I was glad to leave behind, I did find myself missing those 30-degree temperatures; those nights spent kicking off the sheets and spreading myself out across the mattress to stay cool.

Home sickness at its finest. 😉

Great post. I really don’t believe in air-conditioning in private homes – and I’m from Australia so I’ve earned my heat wave cred too!

By the way, the fog is swaddling San Francisco and maybe the southern tip of Marin. It’s not much in evidence in the rest of the Bay Area, at least not down where I am on the peninsula. San Franciscans love to complain about the weather in the “Bay Area” when they really mean the city! 🙂
