I live in California where I find lawns despicable, but even in New Jersey where I grew up - yes - we water our lawns!
I'm confused by one fact - we need 48 litres a day? We only need 3-4 to drink, so where are the other 45 litres that we 'need' going and how was that number calculated?

Do people water their lawns?! Maybe its just because I'm a Brit (and we don't seem to have a shortage of lawn watering rain!)

Also became aware of the wastage of home water after some research for a green project I was working on. The 95% is easy to believe and disgraceful - there are so many ways to re-use water, with little or no processing!
