Gretchen when I read your article again, it put me in a sweat. When there are too many ideas around it's hard to focus. This is a big test of almighty Rags to Riches. So what have we always been told when taking a test? If your stuck on one question pass it over till the end because you probably know the answers to all the others. You have what it takes just don't let IT take all you have. Go get the thread pumping. The End.

Here's the deal Gretchen - stop thinking so much about yourself and focus on your customer. You are a designer, a craftsperson, not a fine artist. You best be designing for someone besides yourself or you will find yourself completly alone on your own little island. In my opinion fashion design is all about a conversation you have with your potential clients For me that is the biggest joy. It gets me out of head and off my little spot in the world and keeps me conected to the big giant cultural wave all across the planet. I've been doing it since I was 19 years old - just myself and my husband - no connections, no big start up money - just lots of passion and ambition. It's been 24 years and I haven't lost it yet. Don't be afraid - get your head out your ass and enjoy!

Gretchen, sometimes we are our own worst critic. Stand back, pinpoint the obstacle and ditch it. You have great ideas. Your just stuck in neutral. Blow up a picture of one of your crazy friends maybe 2 put them on your wall. These people will inspire you. Talk to them. Who's going to know. Time for serious measures. I think.
