Organic cold pressed coconut oil is also seems to help dry skin, consuming it, although also great straight on skin.
Benefits include increased metabalosm, anti-fungal/virual and gets rid of belly fat, associated with cardiovascular health.

Hi! Thanks for this wonderful review of Skin Food! I work in communications at Weleda and I would like to comment on the Skin Deep rating you mentioned for Skin Food. Rest assured that none of our products, including Skin Food, contain synthetic fragrances, or any synthetic materials of any sort.

Because we follow the European INCI labeling laws, the term "fragrance" on our ingredient labels refers to the natural essential oils that we use for their aromatherapeutic properities. Coumarin is a naturally occurring component of essential oils, such as lavender oil.

Weleda products are 100%-certified natural and made with safe, time-tested ingredients grown right from the earth. Weleda has signed the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, and we support the EWG's mission to provide consumers with information they need to make safe, healthy choices. However, there is a great deal of ingredient information not included in the Skin Deep ingredient database. A number of botanicals, like coumarin, are among those missing, in large part, from the database and this can skew the rankings for products containing them.

For more information on the Skin Deep database and why some safe, 100% natural products receive a higher rating than they should, I highly recommend reading Terri Bly's Guide to the Skin Deep Database on the blog FeelGoodStyle. It is very helpful. You can find it here:

Thanks again for this great review! I'm glad Skin Food was able to help heal your dry skin.

Instead of fixing dry skin, I have been avoiding it by nourishing it through diet. When I go a couple days without my fermented cod liver oil capsules, the skin on my hands is so dry it cracks and bleeds. When I take them, I don't need any lotion, lip balm or after-shampoo conditioner. Much greener!
