The rodents can carry parasites (fleas & ticks) that can spread disease to the cats. It doesn’t sound humane to me. Plus, there are plenty of cats that will play around with the mouse and then leave it. Not very effective. A more humane solution is an effective mousetrap. There are ones that humanely kill the cat and then keep it sealed inside, including any disease it has.
