Summer is “the” season for wedge platforms. They are sassy, sexy, and basically look good with anything. We’ve rounded up 5 awesome wedge platforms that you can snatch up now in this week’s Friday Finds.

1. High Society Heel from Free People

Yes, this pair of wedge platforms is incredibly pricy, but we all have to splurge every so often. This pair features a cork heel and a raffia platform. Vegans beware: It does feature suede. This shoe is padded (you’ll need it because the platform is 2 inches and the heel is a whopping six inches). Comes in two colors and priced at $198. Wear with a flowing, peasant dress and people will swear you stepped out of the 1970s… in a good way.

2. Vintage Platforms

These previously-loved beauties feature snakeskin, suede, and leather. These heels are so crazy, you could easily pair them with a simple pair of high-waisted cut-offs and a t-shirt. While the Etsy shop owner hasn’t confirmed the decade of these heeled delicacies, the owner thinks they are ’70s or after. Priced at $95.

3. Platform Sandals

These platform sandals feature cork heels that are deliciously chunky. The white leather straps are adjustable and fit at the ankle. Go all-out retro and pair with a rainbow crop top and short-short white shorts. Priced at $52. Listed on Etsy.

4. Bebe Heels

This shoe is for the closed-toe loving gal. The shoes feature a chunky heel, which is totally in right now. The pair is desert hued. Priced at $28.49. Pair with a structured beige dress, or cream-colored frock to give your outfit a little somethin’. From ThredUp.

5. Dv By Dolce Vita Heels

These shoes feature thick and chunky straps and are listed as practically new (high praise from ThredUp). If I had these shoes, I’d wear them with my sequins hot pants and black crop top. Yes, I own both, and no, I’m not ashamed. Priced at $31.49.

In the past few months, we’ve reported quite frequently that the ’70s are back in a big way. While we’ve given you plenty of tips to master personal ’70s inspired looks, we’ve yet to give you some fab ’70s inspired ideas for the home. Well, that time has come, readers.

Homes in the 1970s were intense. There was just a lot going on color scheme-wise. Also: that shag… and those beads. Now, I’m a lover of shag carpets and adorning my walls with bright, swirling colors. But I don’t like any one room to be too busy. And I think that’s the basic rule anyone who loves the ’70s has to remember when stylin’ their place: A little goes a long way.

So, let’s start with the lighting. Add a little bit of sparkle to your living room, bedroom, or backyard by investing in some funky lighting. One product to consider is BlissLights. These lights come in a few different colors and are low voltage. Here’s a bit about how they work, according to the company: “BlissLights are patented, simple-to-use in/outdoor lighting projectors that create an explosion of thousands of pin points of light which move in unique far-reaching trajectories. Next up: around-the-house decor. Kitschy embroidered pictures that are framed are a must. The Etsy shop TroveLore has quite a stellar collection.

Another ‘70s home decor must is throw pillows. Prop them on the floor for optimal record listening, or on the couch. Anything that’s velvety or shag-y will do, but if you can get your hands on a quality, vintage ’70s pillow, do so.

While this shop sells quite a few different pieces, I was drawn to this upcycled Scrabble necklace. It features a vintage, wooden Scrabble piece that’s adorned with brass trinkets and chain. This item is priced at $24.50 and handmade.

Alas, most women can’t grow luscious facial hair. But if you purchase this pair of mustache earrings, you can easily display your love for dapper facial hair on your ears. These earrings are made from recycled bike tires and are priced at $8.

31 Bits goal is to “empower people through the fashion industry.” The company’s jewelry is made from recycled paper fashioned into the shape of beads. Each piece is incredibly unique. Women in Uganda make the jewelry and earn an income that allows them to support their families.

4. Upcycledjewelry, an Etsy Shop

These earrings are perfect for the tech-loving gal. This piece is handmade and prominently features its main material: an upcycled circuit board. This piece is priced at $20.
