How to Create the Korean Beauty Puppy Eye

Feel blush on its own has to be boring? This flushing beauty is more versatile than you may think. Cream, stain, powder, stick. Pink, peach, gold, bronze, plum. All you have to do is find what works for you and you’ll be blooming with spring-worthy glow in no time.

Cream or Powder? All skin types can pull off either choice, but powder can make drier skin look older, and cream can make oilier skin slippery and shiny. Did you tune into the Oscars this year? The annual Academy Awards show hit the air this past Sunday night and it dazzled as usual. But where was the eco Oscar fashion coverage?

Dior, Chanel, Givency…all of the top designers made an appearance on the red carpet of the 87th annual Academy Awards. Glamorous and stunning, to be sure. But something was missing, and that was any coverage of sustainable fashion.

Not that there was no eco fashion on the carpet. Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin”) and Jake McDorman (“American Sniper”) both wore sustainable styles courtesy of Red Carpet Green Dress, a campaign founded by Suzy Amis Cameron in effort to bring awareness to eco fashion. The fashion campaign holds a contest each year for designs made with environmentally and socially responsible fabrics. The two winners are mentored by an established fashion brand within the fashion industry. This year’s winners were Manon Gabard, who designed Gina’s dress, and Tingting Chen, who designed the tuxedo worn by Jake. Both winners are fashion students at ESMOD-ISEM in Paris.

Missed these two stars in full susty style? They were spotted on some local channels but, sadly, neither made ABC’s event coverage. Too bad, Gina and Jake both looked gorgeous, showing that eco fashion doesn’t mean less-than-glam.

There were other eco touches at the ceremony, mainly by way of organic beauty products. Ilia Beauty made an appearance on the face of Marion Cotillard, who wore Ilia Beauty Sheer Vivid Tinted Moisturizer and Vivid Concealer, and Nicole Kidman with a kiss of Ilia Beauty Lipstick in Blossom Lady. Reese Witherspoon took on a natural glow with Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Lovely.

Socially conscious jewelry was also on the scene. Eco celeb Emma Watson pointed out that both Steve Carell and Jake McDorman sported cufflinks from He For She, the United Nations Women’s Solidarity Movement for Gender Equality.

Ok. Eco Oscar fashion coverage was, #tbh, a little disappointing. C’mon Hollywood, you are the beacon of all that is new and shiny. We love that our green celebs are throwing pre-Oscar parties. Next year we hope to see more stars donning sustainable duds on the red carpet too.
