Green Clean Your Home into Spring

I trudge through winter - the rain and cold and dry skin - with as much enthusiasm as possible for someone whose fingers go numb walking from my car to my front door.  That isn’t to say I don’t enjoy the coldest season of the year - the cashmere sweaters and warm fireside snuggles - I just welcome the warmth of spring. A time of rebirth, renewal, as well as the perfect season to do a thorough house cleaning.

Some people enjoy this process of scrubbing, polishing and mopping. It gives them a feeling of accomplishment like no other. I, on the other hand, would rather hang upside down by my toenails than spring clean my home from top to bottom.

This not-so-life threatening dilemma sent me searching for reasonable and green alternatives. By far the most eco-luxurious option is the Zen Home Cleaning Service, a New York-based eco-friendly cleaning company that puts the luxury into green and clean. Their staff is ultra professional and efficient. They use only non-toxic, natural and biodegradable products. Lavender and jasmine essential oils are burned while they work, and they even turn down your beds and leave a piece of organic chocolate on the pillows. They also offer a professional organizing service as well as weekly and monthly cleaning services – eco-service at its finest! Here’s hoping they expand to the West Coast, and soon.
