Doe, a Dear Place to Shop

Like a deer caught in the headlights, I had to fear for my ATM card while shopping on lower Haight this week at Doe, one of those modern accessory havens where you connect with every tee, tote bag and diminutive gold pendant on display.

I got off pretty easy with just one adorable green printed jersey Kaidy dress by Velvet ($140) for my daughter, Sydney, and a pair of silver leather Moroccan slippers discounted at $10 for my friend, Jodi (the only adult I know who wears a size 7).

But on the way out, wouldn't you know...a brown asymmetrical sweatshirt funnel dress by Prairie Underground caught my eye ($152). Prairie is an eco-friendly line from Seattle that uses 100% pure organic cotton to construct its hooded, zip-up frocks (they run around $198).

The award-winning talents behind the very wearable pieces are designers Davora Lindner and Camilla Eckersley, both recognized throughout the industry as fashion innovators. You can check out the line either at Doe-SF or at Prairie Underground. Doe also has a mailing list for those who want to learn about future inventory and sales.
