When I first heard of Passenger Pigeon, I had my reservations. Having lived in major cities (i.e. pigeon heaven), I have a strong distaste for the bird.
I must say that I’m very glad my first impression was completely wrong. Passenger Pigeon not only makes great clothes but their vision for an eco-friendly life is impressive. The company’s mission is to promote healthy living conditions through environmentally friendly practices. They use sustainable fabrics like cotton and hemp that are harvested and manufactured organically and free of sweatshop labor. All clothes are designed and made by hand in Toronto.
I like this organic cotton and bamboo “lark” dress. I always fall for the ease, comfort, and style of a wrap, and the drawn pattern over red background makes this piece especially fun and carefree. The half-length, rib-cuffed sleeves are perfect for the transitioning weather. All in all – a great, green look for any age. On sale for $108 on Greenloop.
