Exotic Indian Textiles: Instant Vacation

-
I am yearning for a trip someplace exotic and preferably warm. If money were no object, that trip would be to a beach beside the Indian Ocean. Until I can make that dream a reality, I’ll be living vicariously through this vision of beauty by Mary Mulcahy and her Les Indiennes textile designs. Mary’s travels to India have been translated into gorgeous patterns throughout her line of paper, fabric and decorative pillows.

The Les Indiennes line is crafted in India with eco-friendliness in mind, all the while providing fair trade employment for over 50 artisan families.

Mary’s elegant line of limited edition paper rolls are hand-blocked and printed on recycled cotton paper to form one long vertical wall hanging. She has also made her patterns available via 5-meter bolts of fabric to be used as chair coverings or curtains.

I won’t be taking any exotic trips this year, but with these products I can at least live like I did (tread lightly and carry a big imagination!).
