Planet Approved Abodes

A bamboo home is virtually tree-free yet structurally stable, energy efficient, sustainable and artistic in its design.

Inspired by safe, sturdy bamboo homes in Vietnam and other tropical countries around the world, Bamboo Technologies took it upon themselves to go through the lengthy process of testing one particularly strong variety of bamboo and getting it approved as a structural material in the United States. This tough variety of bamboo, known as Bambusa stenostachya, is actually stronger than traditional tree woods used for home building in the States.

Bamboo is an exciting tree-free option because it grows extremely fast, replants itself, and production is eco-friendly. The world’s largest grass has multiple uses for building: structural poles, flooring, fencing, interior elements and even furniture.
