A Long, Tall, Clean, Green Drink of Water

-

It’s clear that disposable plastic water bottles are a huge problem. Even if they don’t end up on the middle of the ocean, they’re made of plastic, which releases harmful chemicals into the environment and our bodies. The popular Nalgene bottles are at least reusable, but they’re still plastic and there have been some health concerns. (Besides, they tend to get smelly over time). Sigg bottles are gorgeous, but their narrow neck makes them hard to wash and they are easily dented.

Enter the Klean Kanteen. Made of durable, non-toxic, stainless steel, the Klean Kanteen is a great utilitarian option for the sporty among us. (Maybe a gift for the men in your life?) They come in 12 oz., 18 oz., 27 oz., and 40 oz. sizes and you can choose from different cap adapters. Some friends of mine love the sippy cup option for their son. Bicyclists I know love the 18 oz. with the loop cap because it’s easy to grab on the run and fits in most bike cages. Klean Kanteen also sells bike cages for their Kanteens and loop straps for hikers. All can be ordered online.
