Chalkboard Candles (and How I Was Nearly Rich)

-

What other fixtures & fittings can we write on?

Back in April we highlighted sponsor VivaTerra’s reclaimed barn wood bins, their outsides lined with chalkboards. Storage containers you can relabel and keep notes on – practical and eco-friendly (and no fiddly peeling-off of paper labels, surely one of the great trials of modern life).

And this concept crops up again in Delight’s chalkboard candles. Named placeholders at the table? Reminders to self? You’re a dab hand with the colored chalks? Then these are perfect.

And then it struck me: where do we traditionally leave notes to our loved ones? Stuck to the fridge. So why not cover the front of the fridge in chalkboard? Brilliant. And it was my idea! Dollar signs flashed before my eyes, eco-gold taps in the bathroom, you name it. And then I saw that those bright folk at Apartment Therapy are way ahead of me.

Back to the drawing board.
