Eco Style West Vol. 19

Sustainable style news from EcoSalon’s West Coast fashion editor.

15 Fashion Minutes—Designed to showcase the best in fashion films, this year’s La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, taking place July 29th & 30th, 2011 is shaping up to be San Diego’s hottest red carpet event. The latest film debuts, fashion webcasts and exclusive screenings will be shown at a new state-of-the-art theater, demonstrating why this emerging art movement is increasingly being integrated into branding campaigns by key industry thought leaders and influencers. Presenting some serious networking opportunities for fashion and film creators, there are plenty of industry mixers and after-parties planned including the opening night party at Barfly nightclub where a never-seen-before Andy Warhol portrait art installation will be unveiled.

Organic Style—Clary Sage Organics, the beloved locally sourced, locally-made yoga wear line constitutes as a daily uniform to many of its San Francisco devotees. To celebrate their 3rd year anniversary this Thursday, July 28th, they’re throwing a customer appreciation party offering apparel giveaway packages, wellness services and additional savings on store merchandise. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to SFMade, a local non-profit that supports locally made products and manufacturing.

The Green Life— If going green is ultimately a reeducation process, this weekend’s Green Fair LA has lots to offer to greater your knowledge in the eco-friendly, sustainable and organic way of life. With 200 plus vendors, a veggie food court, yoga, tai chi, live music and an eco-conscious fashion show, the 2-day event promises to make change fun and stress-free. With free admission and plenty of parking and easy access to the facilities, there’s no excuse to miss it.
