At last weekend’s EcoSalon Shops! event, I scooped up quite a few great finds from designers and boutiques. I also found a lot to add to my fall fashion list (of course I wanted to buy it all then and there, but luggage space was tight).
Here’s what I picked.
This nearly-sheer shirt by Toggery for Mission Savvy has that wonderful worn feel of a vintage tee. The shirt is actually a little brighter in person than this image depicts – the papaya hue really pops something juicy.
From Rebecka Froberg’s Pure Water line, sustainable jewelry that’s sweet, delicate and ideal for daily wear. I spent a little time chatting with Rebecka and wanted just about every piece she had on display, but restrained myself…for now.
As soon as I saw this blouse I had to have it. Made by Ryann, it’s the perfect weekend or beach shirt. I’m not usually one for the tunics and “flowy” shirts because I always feel like they make me look pregnant, but this shirt is really flattering. The purple is muted and pretty, and the fabric, while durable, is so lightweight I hardly feel it. (I also bought a dress from Raina, the lovely lady behind Ryann, but I don’t have a picture!)
How cute are these? Feisty Elle makes perfectly crafted merino felted earrings that are lightweight, colorful, and so unique. I picked up the pair shown here on designer Leslie Yang.
I think, no I know I can control my designer shoe addiction with vegan heels like these hot kicks from Cri di Coeur’s wallet-friendly Hearts of Darkness line. I swear.
The organic Heart Spray by Buddha Nose features rose water and gentle essential oils to help you feel at peace and relaxed. As soon as founder Amy Galper spritzed me with this lovely scent, I knew it was going to be a new favorite.
I also bought the organic Deep Breathe Balm, a minty salve so soothing, you’ll never use Vicks Vapor Rub again. It helps me open up my shoulders and chest and breathe deeply, even when I have been hunched over the computer all day. I often feel like I’ve swallowed sawdust in the morning thanks to mild allergies, and this really helps – I’ve been using it daily since our event.
On my short list? Several pieces from Feral Childe’s upcoming Fall 2010 line (leggings, dresses, a beautifully tailored cardigan you fashionistas will die for, and even a tunic), as many Doucette Duvall dresses and skirts I can get my hands on, and a shimmering neutral, double-cloth, minimalist jumper from Tara St. James’ Study with lines so clean and strong, it could easily stand in for a suit. Yes, a jumper. Just you wait. Cri di Coeur also has some gorgeous ikat satin gladiator ballet flats, so I’m thinking the shoe addiction has merely been redirected. Stay tuned.
