Fall Trend 2010: Camel is King

-

The fashion publications for September have a couple of standout features in common: 1.) they are at least double in size and 2.) they have all proclaimed that camel is king this fall! The unemployment trend in the US is still coasting along and so is the sentiment to ‘dress for less’. Part of that equation is investing in classic pieces, and camel certainly falls in to that category.

The key to wearing camel is to mix it with other strong neutrals, like a brown handbag, grey shirt or black pants. We’ve selected a few eco-options to help you integrate this trend into your fall wardrobe.

1. Erin Templeton Large Whiskey Tote: Fair trade made in Canada. Bags for fall are returning to practicality. Bottom Line: Get one that is not too big or embellished.

2. Hessnatur Wool Flannel Cropped Jacket: Ethical wool sourced with pure silk lining. Camel goes with everything and has an expensive feel. Bottom Line: Invest in a camel topper.

3. Olsen Haus Grace 2 Heels: Vegan-faux suede and cork. Kitten heels are making a comeback and neutral tones elongate the leg. Bottom Line: Come back from stratosphere heels to a more grounded version.
