Being a new home owner I’m always searching for ways to spruce up the house while keeping an eye on the green – in all the word’s eco-friendly and pocketbook-friendly meanings.
Our biggest hurdle is the kitchen. Until we can afford to rip out the ghastly 80s kitchen cabinets and start over, I will have to settle for little decorative touches. That’s why I was so happy to discover Hammocks & High Tea. Influenced by her childhood in exotic South America, designer Karen Young has created a line of tea towels and drawer liners that conjure up lazy afternoons lounging on a hammock in the BVI’s.
I would use the drawer liners, printed on rice paper, to line our cabinets and the lovely soy/hemp blend tea towels printed with non-toxic ink to perk up the rest of the kitchen. The drawer liners are also available with a subtle scent; choose from Rose Tea or French Lavender (sold in a set of 6 for $25).
