Lustables: Brady & Kowalski Restored Typewriters

The typewriter gets a second chance and we think Kerouac, Hemingway and Faulkner would approve.

Donna Brady and Brandi Kowalski say of their lovingly restored typewriters, “Our mission is to keep the written word alive through the use of the manual writing machine.” Thanks to them, the typewriter, such that was used by Hemingway, Kerouac and Faulkner, is getting a new ribbon on life.

Collectively known as Brady & Kowalski, Donna and Brandi restore typewriters from across the decades out of their studio in Brooklyn, NY. Classics like the Remington, the Corona and the Royal Standard can range from a couple hundred dollars to a cool thousand.
