The twenty-something designers behind Lutz & Patmos launched a special eco-friendly line to be sold exclusively at Barneys Green beginning in Spring 2008. The inspiration behind the collection’s name is simple: one designer lives on Leroy street and the other on Perry street in NYC’s West Village. The two share a love of casual, wearable, eco fashion, green markets and organic food, recycling and conserving.
The Zampa tunic (shown above), a piece from Spring 2008, is made of yarn spun from a blend of recycled pre-dyed cotton t-shirt scraps and bamboo. After the initial success of this collection, it was only natural for the duo to continue their vision with Barneys for a Fall 2008 line. L&P was nice enough to let us preview their long hooded duster in natural, made of organic cotton and this knit vest in gray, made of handknit cotton from recycled t-shirts, both of which will be sold only at Barneys Green.

Thanks to Lutz & Patmos, we have eco-style made simple. Now, if only life could be this easy”¦
