The green clothing of Machja is giving eco-fashionistas around the world a taste of Corsica.
Corsica, the fourth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, is the muse of Machja founder Catherine Soundirarassou, whose designs are inspired by the island’s traditional embroidery. This theme is subtly incorporated into many of Machja’s breezy pieces.
Principles of respect undermine Machja’s vision, as they vow only to use organic cotton and adhere to ethical production standards. Living in Hawai’i, I admit I sometimes tire of the ultra-casual beachwear and long for the chic shores of Machja’s green Corsica.
