
Milk crates would look pretty cheesy in most family rooms but these chic little shelves and seats reborn of the plastic containers are pretty darn cute (pictured above, below).
Leave it to Israeli designer, Naty, who might be the dairy queen if not the darling of her hot Tel Aviv collective, Lool 82, which recycles everyday objects into fun green furnishings. She makes the pieces to order (seat cushions can vary) including the adorable storage end tables with prefab table legs for holding books or even old discarded milk bottles after a raucous night of poker with the kids.
"I like taking a box from its natural environment – the streets – and relocating it to the domestic environment," the artist tells me. "That way you don’t just deal with recycling plastics but recycling culture as well."
