Organic materials happily co-exist with polished aluminum and Swarovski crystals in the must-have pieces that the enlightened company Shine Home is offering in its new fall 2008 collection.
Designer and owner Susan Ortiz, who draws inspiration from hemp, rope, natural linens, stone and wood to express her visions, debuted her shining spectrum of new sofas, chairs, side tables and accent pieces at the New York International Gift Fair this week. They reflect her signature use of shape and texture (the clever pattered nailheads and Forties silhouettes) with the addition of aluminum and crystals for a fresh, modern sparkle.

I love that Ortiz, like myself, is the daughter of a successful real estate developer and designer, and was dragged to property sales and design centers at an early age. Shine Home, based in San Clemente, California, is the culmination of her vast experience as a photographer, sculptor, poet and interior designer. It’s one of my favorite sources for ultra chic side tables and ottomans. Check out the site and you’ll see why.
