The DIY Gene

-

DIY is not for everyone, especially if patience and ingenuity are virtues that might not be within easy reach. From one who was not born with the DIY gene, I see craft-from-scratch as a noble endeavor. It is generally more efficient, uses less energy and wastes less material.

Whether they meant to or not, this innovative chair from the French duo behind Studio Lo will make those with limited abilities feel like masters of DIY. This beautiful  hand-crafted chair design is constructed from one piece of wood with minimal assembly (no bolts, screws or other pieces that could get lost, squashed or broken).

Based on the lever principle, it looks like an easy project that even someone with a full-blown case of DIY anxiety could complete with confidence!
