The Little Green Dress

-

Inspired by timeless designs worn by their mothers, grandmothers, and aunts, Stephanie Doucette and Annebet Duvall sought to fill the void of classic pieces in their wardrobes by creating Doucette Duvall. Their fall collection is full of pieces Jackie O. would have worn proudly. I’m especially keen on the frothy yet tailored Justina frock, shimmery gold Amelie, and forest green Bea ensemble.

Doucette Duvall is an environmentally- and socially-responsible brand that has already graced the covers of InStyle, Lucky, and Marie Claire. Their looks have been picked up by celebrities like Liv Tyler and three dresses appeared in last May’s Sex and the City movie.

Manufacturing takes place in New York City’s garment district, using pre-existing fabric and trim, and the company ships only in recycled boxes. Look for the “little green dress” in each collection as a reminder of Doucette Duvall’s commitment to sustainability. A portion of the proceeds from this dress are donated to the nonprofit group, Build it Green.
