  1. Terrific list. Curious as to how you define “sustainable”. A few designers on your list are identified as handmade in the USA. While that’s wonderful, I didn’t think that this characteristic alone makes jewelry sustainable.

  2. Great list, but incomplete. Where’s Alberto Parada? Where’s Monique Pean, winner of the Lexus Challenge? Where are WeWood and Sprout Watches?

  3. Could you please include me in your list? Since being affected by Katrina on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I have been dedicated to keeping my carbon footprint low personally and business wise.

My primary purpose in designing and making jewelry is to “upcycle” found objects in such a way as to create pieces that evoke meaning and joy.

I use various found objects. Examples include vintage postage stamps, old keys, watch faces, pages from hymnals and old books, postcards and even discarded jewelry pieces.

    Thank You!!!

  4. Love this! We are a local designer in Charlotte, NC, creating stylish Eco friendly wood cuff bracelets with ONLY sustainable woods and non-toxic stains and finishes.
