The Gratitude Dance

Since I’m normally reserved, certain souls (Mom) will be pleased to know I danced like an exuberantly witless chicken this morning. In full view of my neighbors.
A good friend emailed me a link to the Gratitude Dance on YouTube. Expressing conscious gratitude is a pretty healthy habit, but did I really need to do this "dance" to get there? I watched the video, glanced around my living room, and thought…why not? (Actually: this is so stupid, but fine.) Sure, the neighbors might see me flailing in the bay window, but must I always be too cool for school? Besides, the one most likely to see me washes his car…in the rain…in his bathrobe. And evidently loves it.
So I danced alone in my apartment, neighbors’ raised eyebrows be damned. After just a few seconds of jiggling, I started laughing. I was soon laughing so hard, the cat (let it be known) scurried into the closet. Mom would dance without a second thought; in fact, she’d probably open the curtains wider.
Dance!

Crazy woman.
And yes, I’m trying it tomorrow.
However, Brits have been adopting this stance for years:

How fun! I love to dance in my living room. Maybe not like a wacky chicken, but any old thing that moves the body, like a full belly laugh with my arms and legs included.
Movement like that moves energy through your body, immediately making you more happy. The solutions are really all so simple!

Woo weee, fun! Some say dance is prayer in movement. I like that idea, it beats sitting in an uncomfortable pew for an hour!

I’ll try it too - but I’m certain my neighbor downstairs won’t appreciate it as much as YOUR neighbors did!
Go on, share your thoughts.
