Watch Out, Chia; Salba's on the Scene

And I thought chia seeds were the ultimate in simple, food-based nutrition. Not so. Chia has a stronger, healthier cousin named salba. Chia and salba both come from the same plant family, and salba’s got everything chia’s got, but so much more.

What’s so good about this little South American seed?
High in folic acid and magnesium
A perfect balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids
6 times more calcium than milk
A good source of iron, protein and potassium

You get all that from tiny little seeds! Look for ground salba meal, whole seeds (which can be sprinkled on food) or salba “granola” bars. Enjoy!
