EcoSalon's 2015 Emmy Awards Fashion Recap

What’s black and pink and metallic all over? The red carpet at the 67th Emmy Awards! With trending gown colors and daring styles, we have the best looks packed into our 2015 Emmy Awards fashion recap, plus the environmental cause that has social media buzzing.

Although sustainable Emmy’s fashion was less abundant this season, as opposed to the Green Dress Red Carpet emergence at the 2014 Oscars, there were still several celebrities showing their support for the environment in another way.

“Calling it the ‘most critical humanitarian crisis of our time,’ the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) Sunday evening used the 2015 Emmy Awards to draw attention to climate change,” reports Mother Nature Network.

Awareness about the impending effects of climate change was raised in the form of little green ribbons emblazoned with the trending hashtag, #DemandClimateAction. There is a petition being circulated in need of support in order to finalize a new agreement for action in combating climate change set to be held in Paris this coming December.

Even though eco-friendly gowns and tuxes were harder to come by, we can at least applaud the well-intentioned activism efforts while we take a quick peek at some of the stunning fashion that went along with it.

Whether it’s “Veep”, “Modern Family”, “Game of Thrones”, “Orange is the New Black”, or one of the many other can’t miss television shows somewhere in between, we’ve got the scoop on who wore what and who wore it best on the red carpet at last night’s Emmy Awards.

Alongside the gorgeous handbags, stunning shoes, and glittering jewelry, we saw an insurgence of various shades of pink, healthy doses of tried-and-true black, a smattering of eye-catching metallic, and a refreshing splash of color.

Pink

These actresses are wearing pink and wearing it proudly. Whether loud or subdued, this proved to be one of the most popular colors of the evening.

Uzo Aduba

Uzo Aduba, winner of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role in ‘Orange is the New Black’, shines in this hot pink and navy two-toned halter gown. Her elegant makeup and side-swept bun coincided beautifully with her look.

Guiliana Rancic

Guiliana Rancic, former “E! News” host, looked dreamy in this crystal embellished pink gown with a simple center part hair style. Although her interviews were described as less than stellar, at least she looked great giving them.

Samira Wiley

Samira Wiley, from the cast of “Orange is the New Black”, is the epitome of understated glamor. This hot pink, slender, off-the-shoulder gown sits beautifully on her frame and looks great with her complexion.

Black

These actresses aren’t afraid of the little black dress, especially with the special nuances and details their gowns received. This was another highly popular color in our 2015 Emmy Awards fashion recap.

Taraji P. Henson

EcoSalon's 2015 Emmy Awards Fashion Recap

Taraji P. Henson looks fierce in this black sheer lace and metal full-length dress. Her chain-inspired straps are to die for and they somehow managed to cover all of her girly parts underneath the peek-a-boo lace skirt.

Carrie Brownstein

EcoSalon's 2015 Emmy Awards Fashion Recap

Carrie Brownstein looks stunning in her menswear-inspired ensemble. Although I am partial (it was my dream to wear dress pants to prom in lieu of a dress but struck out) it’s always refreshing to see a woman in a well-tailored suit at an awards show, and Ms. Brownstein doesn’t disappoint.

Lady Gaga

EcoSalon's 2015 Emmy Awards Fashion Recap

Lady Gaga looks so chic in this architectural number from Brandon Maxwell. It’s refreshing to see her sans wig, wild makeup, and that infamous meat dress. Hopefully, this is a personal style trend that won’t be going away anytime soon.

Metallic

Who needs jewelry when you have dresses like these? We’ve included a couple of the best metallic dresses from last night’s awards show.

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara stuns (as usual) in this curve-hugging metallic St. John sheath and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. This voluptuous beauty finished off her look by leaving her tresses down and opting for a deep, berry-hued lipstick.

Lena Headey

Lena Headey “Game of Thrones” star looks lovely in this maroon and shimmering metallic ball gown. Reminiscent of her show’s chainmail apparel, she couldn’t have chosen a more perfect dress.

Color

Wishing to stand out from the crowd, these Hollywood beauties have chosen to add a pop of color on the red carpet. Vivid brights and a deep berry hue straight out of Pantone’s color of the year playbook helped to diversify the Emmy’s.

Taylor Schilling

EcoSalon's 2015 Emmy Awards Fashion Recap

Taylor Schilling, leading actress in “Orange is the New Black”, looked spectacular in this yellow backless halter dress. The ruched detailing and figure flattering cut definitely brought out Taylor’s natural beauty. Her matching yellow heels, white clutch, and coral lips were the icing on the cake.

January Jones

EcoSalon's 2015 Emmy Awards Fashion Recap

January Jones, the “Mad Men” actress looked divine in her Kelly green pantsuit with sweetheart neckline. Looking Old Hollywood glamor, but with a modern and colorful twist, January looks chic with her brooch adorned ensemble and asymmetrical sash.

Sarah Hyland

EcoSalon's 2015 Emmy Awards Fashion Recap

Sarah Hyland, best known for her role of the flighty eldest sister on “Modern Family”, is looking all grown up in her marsala-colored gown and statuesque pose. Her matching earrings, polish, and bangle bracelet look equally as lovely alongside her sun-kissed complexion.
