Be the Queen

Have you ever felt that your life is in limbo? My husband and I are moving out of state, but can't seem to decide on a new home, and the contracts for his new job haven’t come through the fax. And naturally, he wants to save all the packing for the last minute, which really stresses me out! Needless to say, one day last week I found myself feeling very uncomfortable with the shaky state of affairs.

What’s a woman to do? I took the day off and spent some time with friends. One wise lady advised: “Be still. Be receptive...just for now, be still. Be the queen and let it come to you.”

Be the queen. Now that’scounterintuitive advice! But I decided to try something new - what could it hurt? I took a deep breath, really felt it in my body, and just let go.

I got home to find my husband packing boxes - until a phone call whisked him away to a meeting in order to sign those late contracts. In stillness, I smiled. Sometimes we must take action, but sometimes the best action you can take is nothing at all. Take a deep, assured breath. After all, it’s good to be Queen!
