Dr. Ruth. You are obsolete. None of us need your outdated sexual advice, and we sure as hell disagree with your latest terrible, mandatory sex decree.
According to Jezebel, Dr. Ruth said a few cringe-worthy, out-right dangerous things about sex and sexual consent in a recent interview with Diane Rehm, a radio show host.
The following gross quote from Dr. Ruth was originally reported in the Jezebel piece… Get ready to throw up a little bit in your mouth!
“I am very worried about college campuses saying that a woman and a man—or two men or two women, but I talk right now about women and men—can be in bed together, Diane, and at one time, naked, and at one time he or she, most of the time they think she, can say ‘I changed my mind.’
No such thing is possible. In the Talmud, in the Jewish tradition, it says when that part of the male anatomy is aroused and there’s an erection, the brain flies out of that and we have to take that very seriously, so I don’t agree with that.”
Then, according to Jezebel, Dr. Ruth tried to save face by saying an equally stupid thing on Twitter! Her tweets read:
“I am 100% against rape. I do say to women if they don’t want to have sex with a man, they should not be naked in bed w/him.
That’s risky behavior like crossing the street against the light. If a driver hits you, he’s legally in the wrong but you’re in the hospital.”
Oh, I can just smell the bullshit from here.
Dr. Ruth, you are so wrong. So, so, wrong. First, your statement falls in line with every other wackadoo who says that if a woman wears revealing clothing or drinks too much then it’s her fault if she gets raped. Also, by your logic, women who live with men must at all costs avoid being naked around the house. I don’t know about you, Ruth, but I am mostly nudsies, like, all the time in the summer, and the guy I live with somehow manages to not rape me. Shocking, I know.
Another gross fallacy about Dr. Ruth’s opinion is that she is pretty much saying that a man has no control over his penis. Come on, woman. You know better than that. There are plenty dudes in this great, big world who are capable of not raping a naked woman.
Lastly, this statement pretty much says that if a woman is naked in bed with a man, she doesn’t have the ability to stop sex and say no. Gross.
What are your thoughts about Dr. Ruth’s statements about mandatory sex for naked ladies in bed? Can you think of any other sexual advice expert who has given totally bogus sexual advice?
