Monochrome Makeup: How to Get Nice Bright (Tone on Tone) Colors

Monochrome Makeup Gives Us Those Nice Bright (Tone on Tone) Colors

Denim on denim. White on white. Sometimes more of a good thing is, well…more! Find out how to pull off the monochromatic makeup look for summer.

Monochromatic makeup is in for the season. Slightly different tones of the same color on eyes, cheeks, and lips makes for a super natural glow. And the hottest hue for summer? Peach.

Not your favorite shade? There are so many varieties in this color category to choose from. For those not a fan of the straight up peachy tint, think sweet melon hues, sunset pinks, and smoldering golds.

Current fans of the tone on tone makeup look are Michael Kors and Tory Burch. At first glance it may seem like a ‘no makeup’ makeup knock off, but this look has more glow factor. Think seemingly natural radiance.

Shades and Tips to Pulling Off the Monochromatic Makeup Look

Rather than matching shades, think highlighting features in similar hues. Natural mineral pigment creams and powders are key for lending that barely there effect with the perfect touch of shimmer.

As for the perfect peachy hue. Fair skin tones look best with a bit of pink in their peach. Medium tones do well with a warm nude peach. Darker complexions can pull off a brighter orange peach. Following are picks for each tone.

On Eyes // Fair Skin: W3LL PEOPLE Elitist Mineral Shadow in Satin Apricot. Medium Skin: INIKA Mineral Eyeshadow in Peach Fetish. Darker Skin: RMS Beauty Eye Polish in Solar.

On Cheeks // Fair Skin: INIKA Puff Pot Mineral Blusher in Pink Peach. Medium Skin: RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile. Darker Skin: INIKA Light Reflecting Highlighting Crème.

On Lips // Fair Skin: W3LL PEOPLE Nudist ColorBalm Stick in Coral. Medium Skin: Ilia Beauty Lip Gloss in The Butterfly & I. Darker Skin: Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain in Forever Peach.

There you have your peach medley. Some multi-use beauty products are perfect for this look, too. Monochrome for a sunny day, oh yeah.
